A sphinx and two black statues of Egyptian gods adorn the portal of the orangery in the New Garden. The 86 meter long building was built between 1791 and 1793 by Carl Gotthard Langhanns. King Friedrich Wilhelm II commissioned the building. Not far from the Marble Palace, the orangery is still used today for the wintering of exotic plants. In the middle part of the building is the exquisitely furnished Palm Hall, which the musically inclined king used as a concert hall. The Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival has been building on this tradition for several years and invites you to classical concerts in the orangery.
There is a remarkable perennial garden in front of the orangery.Source: potsdam.de/orangerie-im-neuen-garten

Definitely worth a visit, with its beautiful flower gardens. The nearby Dutch-style houses are also lovely to look at.

There is a nice cafe in here until September. You should definitely try the cucumber lemonade. It's really homemade! Otherwise beautiful flowers around the orangery.
