Gateway to the Haard

These highlights are highly recommended, especially the selected paths through the Haard are beautiful. However, the approach via Herten and Recklinghausen could lead to better routes.

The paths are perfect just not suitable for all tires. Every now and then there are sections where the sentence "Now it's getting dirty fits perfectly :-)

The Haard is a 5,500 hectare forest area and an important local recreation area for the residents of the Ruhr area and has also been a popular area for mountain bikers for a long time.
Cross-country riders and enduro bikers in particular get their money's worth here. There has recently been an official 42-kilometer mountain bike circuit "Haard on Tour", which now offers even more mountain bike fun. But you can take short cuts every now and then and thus also drive smaller laps.
Mostly it goes over wider forest roads, but they have a good trail character. It goes over paths that can also be used by hikers and oncoming traffic must be expected. It is important to show mutual consideration.
