An artist installed five street lamps for which he created special lampshades on the cycle path on the former coal mine railway line between Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and Hubertusstraße, the Recklinghausen art mile. A steel polyhedron is placed around the lamp. The individual form elements are triangular surfaces that are covered with metal mesh so that the light can shine through and illuminate the path. The "mosquito houses", an installation by Michael Sailstorfer, attract the viewer like light does mosquitoes.
