It is best to drive past the Wasserkuppe car park in the direction of Absrota, keep right past the barrier, drive in the direction of Schafstein, the approach is a bit steep and there are many roots at the entrance to Schafstein. When going around the stones change the surface (caution is advised here as many sharp-edged ones stick out) the Schafstein can best be climbed without a bike at the beginning. You can park your car opposite on Hochrhönstrasse.
