The Wasserkuppe is always a sporty destination, whether on foot or by bike. Magnificent views over the Rhön and, if the weather permits, a view of the neighboring low mountain ranges: Vogelsberg, Knüll, Thuringian Forest and Spessart.

  • With 950 meters the highest mountain of Hessen and accordingly beautiful view over large parts of the Rhön. Here you can watch the paragliders and gliders while taking a break from the climb.

Further east of the summit there are restaurants and two farmers or regional shops with a nice assortment and not only for children a small amusement park with summer toboggan run and more.

  • The Wasserkuppe is, apart from its tourist attraction, always a sporting destination. The 950 meters finally want to be done. The increase is rewarded!

  • The view is mega ... great landscape.
It is also worth taking a short walk to the horse head or the Abstroda Kuppe ... both destinations can of course also be reached by bike.

  • If it didn't work out at the rest area with sun loungers, this is also a good alternative. There are no sun loungers here, but the view is just as beautiful.

  • As the highest mountain in the "Land of Open Distant Areas" (Rhön), the Wasserkuppe naturally occupies an exposed position. As the start, stopover or destination, the highest mountain in Hesse is worth a visit in every season. The Wasserkuppe offers incredible natural and landscape diversity in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve for nature lovers and those seeking peace, but is also a magnet for athletes, sailors and skiers.

  • A visit to the Rhön without a visit to the Wasserkuppe is incomplete - even if there is already a lot of hustle and bustle. A short walk to the horse's head or to the Abtsrodaer Kuppe brings great views.

  • The Wasserkuppe in the Hessian district of Fulda with a peak in the Gersfeld area is 950 m above sea level. NHN [1] the highest mountain in the Rhön and at the same time the highest elevation in Hesse.
The Fulda rises on the mountain, known nationwide as the "cradle of gliding"; another 30 streams have their origin here. From the summit region, when the visibility is good, the view extends across the Rhön landscape to the Hohem Meißner, Rothaargebirge and Taunus mountains, among other places. (... from Wiki)
