Saint Martin, to whom this chapel is dedicated, is probably one of the most popular saints of all, along with Saint Nicholas. The memorial day of the former officer in the Roman army is on November 11th. On the night after the famous "dividing of the cloak", when he leaves half his army cloak to a freezing beggar, Jesus Christ appears to him in a dream. He then converted to Christianity and was later elected bishop of Tours (France), initially against his will.
Many are likely to have fond childhood memories of making lanterns in kindergarten and elementary school, the evening lantern procession through the dark village / district - and of course the delicious "Weckmann".

The St. Martin's Chapel is located in a wonderful spot where you can relax and enjoy a fantastic view of the Rhön landscape. The chapel, built in 2005, invites you to relax from the stresses of everyday life under the motto "Come in, find peace". The benches in front of it are ideal for a rest during the hike.
