The “Saarner Ruhrauen” nature reserve is one of the most beautiful floodplain areas on the left of the Ruhr. Nature photographers make a pilgrimage here to the well-known places where the kingfisher breeds in order to be able to observe and photograph the goings-on from a short distance from a bridge.
The breeding areas are signposted like everywhere on the island and are not allowed to be entered during this time. Violations and disruptions are punished everywhere. Nevertheless, motifs can be found easily from the many paths with the appropriate camera equipment. ... "
