Huize Assendelft, located south of Middelrode, is a historic country house with a rich history. It was first mentioned in 1320 as Ten Bergulen farm. In 1512 it was destroyed by Gelderland troops. In 1542 the gatehouse was rebuilt, followed by the construction of a small castle called Delfthuis.
Over time, the name changed to Huize Assendelft. The castle was demolished in 1842, but the gate from 1570 was preserved.
Today, the remaining part of Huize Assendelft is located on Assendelftseweg, not far from the Seldensate estate.

Huize Assendelft was a small castle or playhouse south of Middelrode. Huize Assendelft was built on the west bank of the Aa and was already mentioned in 1320. At that time people still spoke of the Ten Bergulen farm. In 1512 it was destroyed by the Gelderland troops led by Maarten van Rossum.
