Inspired by the oil painting "Flemish Houses" (1892) by the painter Paul Baum (1859 - 1932), the basic architectural form of these houses is taken up, the outer walls of which are a network of colorful garden hoses.
The mesh symbolizes the high craftsmanship skills of the immigrant flemings, through the safe dam construction and cultivation of the soil reached an elevated level. The main building, which is integrated into the existing tree population, is connected via hoses - symbolic transport systems for energy and vital fluid - to two smaller houses, which are installed as "offshoots" in the trees.
