The Hahnenturm was built in 1471 and renovated in 1979 (see information board) and is inhabited today. - On the inner city wall tour you will find a public toilet to the left of the Hahnenturm.

Hiking

The tower only protrudes slightly from the surrounding wall. This was also originally open to the city side. The tower can clearly be assigned to two different construction phases. While the lower part consists of small quarry stones, the upper floor is made of larger corner blocks. In the older substructure, the arrow slits are made in a simple, old-fashioned rectangular shape, while more developed keyhole slits can be found in the upper part.
