There are several legends and fairy tales about the Bräutigamswand. It is said that the girls from Töpfersdorf met on the rock and could see their future brides in the Saale fog. One day a girl stood on the cliff and looked into the fog and saw her husband. Her friends stood a little way off and heard the girl scream. Shortly afterwards she fell from the Bräutigamswand and fell into the Saale and drowned. She was never found.
