This enthroned half-timbered building stands on the edge of the Rieseneck hunting grounds near Hummelshain. The Herzogstuhl is a hunting lodge built between 1915 and 1917 by Duke Ernst II of Saxony-Altenburg. The duke used it as a hunting lodge and above all as a "pleasure palace" for his pastoral hours. According to the story, he had a secret door built in from his ducal suite, through which the mistress could escape via a narrow spiral staircase in case of danger (especially in the form of the wife). However, such a secret passage was never discovered.

The half-timbered castle was built in 1917 by Duke Ernst II of Saxe-Altenburg. It not only served as a hunting lodge, but is also said to have served as a pleasure palace for his numerous amorous adventures.

The Jagdschlösschen Herzogstuhl, located in the forest, exudes a mysterious and romantic atmosphere. It was built around 1917 by Duke Ernst II of Saxony-Altenburg. The beautifully situated castle not only served as a hunting lodge, but also as a pleasure castle for the Duke's amorous adventures
