The Stempfermühl source is a safe karst source and should be the strongest of the entire Franconian Switzerland with up to 800 m³ / sec. There is a direct connection with the Fellner Doline above Gößweinstein.

The Stempfermühle is located in Wiesenttal, on the B470 between Behringersmühle and Muggendorf. The Stempfermühlquelle of the same name is considered one of the strongest karst springs in Franconian Switzerland. Their water flows into the nearby Wiesent and operated until the 1920s, the Stempfermühle.
The Stempfermühlquelle is the starting point for outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, Nordic walking and cycling. In addition, there is a stop of the museum railway, which runs from May to October between Ebermannstadt and Behringersmühle. The inn is closed until further notice.
