What is special about the village church in Saal is that the bell tower stands a few meters away from the church as a solitary tower. In contrast to the church, which is made of brick and a base made of field stones, the bell tower is made of wood. In addition, the tower has a unique shape as a bell tower.
The choir of the church belongs to the oldest part of the building. It was dated to the end of the 13th century with the help of dendrochronological studies.
