Děčín Castle is originally a castle from the 13th century, rebuilt in the 16th century into a castle. It is located on a sandstone rock above the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice in Děčín. The castle grounds are protected as a cultural monument. Its owner is the statutory city of Děčín. The first fortified settlement on the rock was most likely an early medieval fortress. In the 13th century, a Gothic castle was built in its place. At the beginning of the 14th century, it was acquired by the Vartenbergs, to whom it belonged until 1511.

On the remains of a castle was built in the 16th century a Renaissance castle. After the end of the war, the castle of the Soviet Army served as the coffers, which caused it to suffer greatly. It is elaborately renovated, and become a feast for the eyes.
