                From the rugged Burgstallfelsen you have a unique view of Sontheim and over the entire Steinheimer basin. The basin originated around 15 million years ago when a 150-meter-diameter meteorite hit Earth at high speed. A peculiarity of the Steinheimer basin is the middle hill. This hill, called Steinhirt, rises clearly visible over the rest of the crater floor.
