A small hamlet in the middle of an idyllic hilly landscape. Worth seeing is the St. Josefs chapel with its murals in the rectory, on which wood grooms in the Ötscher primeval forest can be seen around 1830.

The Josefsberg is a 1012 m above sea level. A. high mountain pass in the Türnitzer Alps in Lower Austria. It leads over a local watershed the Erlauf and has the character of a Talpasses around the Ötschergräben.
The pass connects the towns of Annaberg and Mitterbach and has a maximum gradient of 10%. At the top of the pass there is the village of the same name and to the east of it the skiing area Schilifte Josefsberg.

If you start the Ötscher trenches from the other side you go through Josefsberg.
