The Goetheweg parallel to the route of the Brockenbahn is great to drive or to go. With a bit of luck, the Brockenbahn will pass by. In any case, you also have a good view from here.

The former Kolonnenweg to the Goetheweg is very steep and a challenge for bikers. But the achievement of the Goetheweg is worthwhile.

If you do not mind 20% or more% incline, drive up to Brocken Hirtenstieg (from Ranger Station Scharfenstein) steep but few people!) And down the train line.
