The Bärenbrücke is located in the Große Bode valley at the foot of the Wurmberg. It is the largest bridge structure that crosses this tributary of the Warme Bode. At the Bärenbrücke there is an important crossroads and a rest area with the "Alfred-Rieche-Hütte".
