The last Old Dutch part was the Niederwall (...a Dutch invention, the parts of the second fortification ring were further developments) with the covered path and the glacis in front of it. The main moat in front of the bastions had to be enlarged because of the new ravelins. The Orsoy Fortress itself is referred to as the "Irregular Pentagonal Bastionary Fortress" according to current fortress terminology.

Great old fortress town ... many small details from the former fortress are still there and can be found on a tour through the town.
