This new cycle and footpath leads west of the extensive ThyssenKrupp plant on the piped lower reaches of the "Old Emscher in Duisburg-Stockum". It bypasses the busy Alsumer Straße and connects the Beeck pumping station with the Alsumer Berg through a spectacular industrial landscape.

Other activities
Since Maternastraße and tunnel are closed, this course on the "Alte Emscher" is a nice alternative, although it does not come close to the experience of the tunnel journey as in some Schimanski crime scenes.
