The Wroclaw Dwarfs (Polish: krasnale) are a tourist attraction in Wroclaw (Wrocław), the capital of Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In the 1980s, the political opposition movement "Orange Alternative" criticized the communist regime in Poland with spontaneous actions (e.g. demonstrations in dwarf costumes) and set up a cast-iron dwarf (Papa Dwarf) in Wroclaw's old town. The dwarf motif certainly goes back to the model of the Dutch kabouter movement, active around 1969-1974, which also playfully and subversively took up the myth of the cunning and helpful dwarfs.

A few new dwarves are added every year. In 2005 the first 5 are dwarfs

been placed. The builder was Tomasz Moczek, who has built over 350 dwarves to date

      depicted all kinds.

The dwarfs can be found all over the city center and want to be discovered. At the same time, they familiarize the attentive observer with a little bit of the city's cultural history.
