For me, one of the most amazing climbs in the area. Almost entirely shaded, making it perfect even on hot days. And: Very little motorized traffic.

I don't like the route as a descent, as only short sections are visible enough to allow you to let it slide. In other words, you spend too much time on the brakes.

Note for winter/spring riders:

Closed from Schönau in winter because the trail isn't cleared. However, especially after longer periods without snowfall or the first warmer days, you can still ride there. A small risk: If things go wrong, you'll have to turn around. I've been lucky so far and only had to carry my bike over the snow for ten or fifteen meters on the pass once.

After the pass, from the hut onwards, it was always clear and cleared.

A beautiful mountain ride that leads from Schönau in the Wiesental valley to the Tiergrüblehütte at 1,068 meters above sea level, along a small, quiet road. The route is almost entirely through forest, which is certainly advantageous in summer. The gradient is mostly moderate, rarely reaching 10 percent. However, due to the light traffic, the asphalt is covered in moss in some sections, which should be taken into account on the descent in wet conditions – it can be quite slippery. Right at the bottom of the trailhead, there's a fountain where you can refresh yourself or refill your water bottles.

Very nice Sträßle with little traffic, idyllic and with great surface. A real road bike highlight. 2019 and 2018 the most beautiful section of the "Black Forest Super!" Marathon (gold and silver).
