a quiet and beautiful variant for the ride on the Gempen. Quiet because motorized traffic is closed (at least the lower part) and because it is not up the well-known and notorious main street of Dornach. Ideal in summer because the actual ascent is in the forest and after the ascent to the Schönmatt restaurant you can relax on the intermediate plateau before the last few meters up to Gempen.
And nice because it goes up through a beautiful deciduous forest and then the cherry trees line the path at the top.
