Beautiful but challenging circular hike. We actually wanted to do the ridge crossing, but we realized that we were much too late and the rocks were still a bit damp. Even the climb up Mont Chauffé is not easy and requires a head for heights and a good sense of orientation.

Standard Black Forest tour to warm up... your butt isn't used to anything after the long winter 😅 - ideal conditions today, dry roads despite dark clouds, little traffic, what more could you want. In Atzenbach it's better to take the Schönauerstrasse.
