Walmer Castle is a fort that was built between 1539-40 on the orders of Henry III. Over the years, the castle transformed into a stately-home with stunning gardens for the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports and was a residence for many famous people, including the Duke of Wellington, Queen Elizabeth, and the Queen Mother. These days, it is a fascinating place to visit with award-winning gardens to explore.
