East, outside the village, on the county road to Bayreuth, junction Frankenhaag, stands the St. Rupert Chapel. Surrounded by an old cemetery wall and mighty Linden it has an idyllic location.
In Sankt Rupert there is no electricity connection, the services are held by candlelight. Even the organ has to be kicked. In the summer months of May, June, July and August, there is an evening service every Saturday evening at 19.30. This devotion has great popularity from the near and far surroundings.
Many people today appreciate the special quality of the water of the spring in front of the churchyard. They often come from the surrounding area to scoop and refresh themselves.
Incidentally, there is also a Sankt Rupert pilgrimage route in Germany. "With St. Rupert, the apostle of Bavaria, and Maria on the way", is the motto for pilgrims, when they walk to Salzburg starting with Altötting.
