When the heather is in bloom, it is worth watching and listening to the hustle and bustle in front of the beehives from a sufficient distance. It's always something special for me.

The beginning of August - at the beginning of the heather blossom - is probably the most popular time of the year for a heather beekeeper. The beekeeper brings his bees to the heathland. But that's not how it works! Here you need a hiking permit, on the one hand from the property owner, then from the bee hiker, who makes sure that not too many bees are in one spot, and then from the veterinary office of the district. You have to prove this with an official bee health certificate that the bees that you want to bring to the heath are free of notifiable diseases.

And don't forget the glass of heather honey, it's just delicious.
