A picture book location in the Lüneburg Heath. Many inns, cafes, museums and small shops invite you to visit. Nearby, a detour to the Totengrund and Wilseder Berg is worthwhile.

With its historic buildings, the historic town resembles a lively museum village.
In the summer season the 40 soul place Wilsede becomes a real tourism magnet. In addition to a visit to the museum or the exhibition in the sheepfold you can admire the many thatched houses while strolling through the village.

In the midst of the nature reserve Lüneburger Heide lies the idyllic and car-free Heideort Wilsede, which visitors can only reach on foot, by bicycle or on a coach. With its old, historic buildings, the historic town resembles a lively museum village.Today, the 1907 Heidemuseum »Dat ole Huus« of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Conservation Foundation, two inns, the Domizlaff guesthouse, the historic Emhoff and several sheepfolds exist.Especially worth seeing in Wilsede are the old, thatched houses and sheepfolds as well as the moorland museum »Dat ole Huus«.

Fascinating little place in the middle of the nature reserve. On particularly beautiful days at the time of pagan blossom but very full.

Very nice place ... like always only the one museum we were not allowed to visit because we were traveling with dog ... no entrance for our fur nose ...

Almost a small museum village and the Heideblüte very well visited. Then it gets very crowded sometimes. Several guesthouses provide for the physical well-being.

Wilsede is always described as a "museum village", but that's just not quite true. At least 40 people still live here. ;-)

Always worth a detour. The place is teeming with people in summer, in winter it seems extinct, but all the more beautiful to enjoy the romantic village. Wilsede was first mentioned in 1287.

A tourist magnet and rightly so! If you still want the village for yourself, I recommend the morning and evening hours for a visit. Sleepy and deserted, Wilsede looks even more idyllic.

The heather museum "Dat ole Huus" shows how heather farmers lived and worked around 1850. This also includes an exhibition sheepfold.

Wilsede is "the" heath village in which every visitor to the heath must have been. Outside the season it is idyllic and sleepy and wonderful to look at.

This sweet and idyllic village is a recommended destination for young and old in every season. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of tourists, I recommend the early morning or evening hours. Lonely and deserted, the effect is much better ..!
