The Windebyer Noor was also known earlier as the Eckernförder Noor. The inland lake is about 389 hectares. The white stone in the picture consists of reddish granite and was moved here from today's southern Sweden from Värmland. It weighs around 48 tons and is the sixth largest boulder in Schleswig-Holstein. Its white color comes from the droppings of the sea birds that rest on the stone. Around three quarters of the Windebyer Noores are surrounded by a hiking trail. A complete circuit of the lake is possible, but part of it is on roads.ostseemagazin.net/windeby
