The Frohnauer Hammer is one of the most important parts of the UNESCO World Heritage "Montanregion Erzgebirge / Krušnohoří" and is one of the most famous excursion destinations and sights of the Ore Mountains. It is the oldest blacksmith museum in Germany (since 1910), emerging from a grain mill built in the Middle Ages. In 1621 it was converted into a hammer mill. Tools for mining and agriculture were manufactured here until 1904. Visitors experience the fully functional hammer mill with water power drive from the 17th century in action and visit the living quarters of the former hammer masters in the manor house.Source and further information
