The royal Bavarian trade councillor Adolf Wolf from Munich, who often stayed in Karlovy Vary for a spa treatment, expressed his gratitude for the healing effects of the springs by building this viewing point in the forest high above the spa. The terrace with the stone bench, on the back of which a resting wolf and the words "Wolf's Rest" are engraved, was built in 1908. The decorative columns on the sides bore the coats of arms of the cities of Munich and Karlovy Vary at the time. In 2008, the bench was completely reconstructed to mark the 650th anniversary of the city's founding. The original Karlovy Vary city coat of arms was removed and replaced with a completely new one that shows the year of the celebrations.
