Slightly off a (forest) trail in Bad Rehburg is a memorial stone with the lettering H. Burckhardt on the front and 1880 on the back.
Heinrich Christian Burckhardt, born February 26, 1811 in Adelebsen; † December 14, 1879 in Hanover was an important German forestry man of the 19th century, who coined the forestry and silviculture of that time through his work and his publications. He was head of the forest administration of the Kingdom of Hanover and after the later annexation by Prussia of the Prussian province of Hanover.
