Fischerhütte Ferry

The country cut by the Kiel Canal is connected here by means of a ferry. The ferry times are from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. as required. You queue at the barrier, the ferry will come after a few minutes of waiting. In the cheaper case it is already on the side from which you want to drive and you can drive directly onto the ferry when the traffic light is green.
Can also be used as a pedestrian or cyclist. Cyclists have to get off and push the bike.
Attention: At the moment there is a mask requirement on the ferry for everyone who is not in a closed vehicle, due to Corona.
Use of the ferry is free.For many years a “chain ferry” performed reliable services here. This ferry pulled itself across the canal on an underwater chain. In the meantime, however, it has been separated and can now be viewed on the bank next to the eastern landing stage.

It can happen that the ferry does not run. Then you can either take the bridge about 5km to the west, including some steep climbs, or about 7km to the east, hoping that the ferry runs there.
