The Yellow Castle was built as a mansion in the second half of the 16th century on the foundations of an older seat of Hieronymus Geuder. From 1752 to 1789 Johann Adam Geuder, Nuremberg's Losunger, was the lord of the castle. In 1988, the Yellow Castle was completely renovated.

Heroldsberg has four castles that are privately owned with the exception of the White Castle. The old town center with the Matthäuskirche is definitely worth seeing.
