Kesselalm Mountain Hut

The Kesselalm is located at an altitude of 1,285 meters. It is open all year round and is a great starting point for hikes in summer and winter. At the hut you can get hearty food, snacks and cakes. There are also drinks and ice cream. You can spend the night in the dormitory. Thursdays are closed and the hut may also be closed in bad weather. It is best to check the website beforehand: kesselalm.com.

There are two parking spaces for hikers in the Fischbachau district of Breitenstein. For the use of the large one you pay 5 euros and the nearby small one can be thanked with a small donation in a box.
For those who like it easy, the Kesselalm can be reached via a supply road. It's still going uphill. Reward yourself with a Kaiserschmarrn (€ 11.50 / as of Oct. 2020) that is second to none. But the other dishes are also highly recommended.
Well strengthened you can, among other things, hike up to the Breitenstein (mountain!).
