The chalk museum is in Sagard in the OT Neddesitz, it is Europe's only chalk museum and is located in a historic chalk factory from the time of traditional chalk mining on Rügen. The museum is very informative, everything is very clean and the staff on site was helpful and nice. The museum itself is barrier-free, but access to the small Königsstuhl is not.

The Gummanz Chalk Museum was opened in 2001 on the site of the chalk factory of the same name, which was closed in 1962. The exhibition set up in the former boiler house provides extensive information about the geology of Rügen.
