Pretzfeld was the seat of a manor of the same name. With the Rheinbundakte 1806 the place came to Bavaria.
Cherry blossom is a special attraction for visitors in the spring when thousands of fruit trees bloom on the slopes of the market. The market Pretzfeld is located in the middle of the largest contiguous cherry growing area in Europe. A nice introduction to the area and cherry growing is provided by the information boards on our cherry path.
Also worth seeing is the Rokkoko parish church of St. Kilian, the castle and the nearby Jewish cemetery.
The annual highlight is the cherries festival in July at the Pretzfelder beer cellar with a traditional parade.
By train every hour from Forchheim.
