Hikers love the Soca Valley in Slovenia. The prospects you get on every hike, whether easy or difficult, are just amazing. You will find hikes that only go one to two hours but which also extend over several days. One of the absolute highlights is the Tolminka Gorge, the lowest point in the Soca Valley. An incredible gorge with magical colors. Words can not describe that.

The gorge is simply gorgeous with the clear water and waterfalls.

the lower section is really only recommended for "climbers". Surefootedness and good footwear are essential.

We went the hike 4 days ago. From the Soca source to Bovec (approx. 30km) and therefore only recommended for those in good physical condition. The highlights await you from the source down until the valley opens (approx. 20km). After that, the whole thing repeats itself in less spectacular forms. - So you could shorten the tour accordingly without missing out on anything ...
The starting point is the hut at the Soca source (accessible by car). From here you can still get to the actual source via a via ferrata before starting the actual hike (recommended: approx. 30 minutes. A head for heights required)
It is very important to include the way back when planning. There is a bus route on which the last bus leaves relatively early. Taxis are nil! It happened to us that we arrived in Bovec around 19:00 and only got back to the car (starting point) on the same day with the help of friendly locals. Short-term accommodation is very difficult to come by.
Otherwise, the tour follows one highlight after the other (gorges, waterfalls, suspension bridges, crystal-clear turquoise water that invites you to swim ...) and is definitely recommended!

It could be dino tracks ... But regardless of that, it is very exciting and nice to scramble a little deeper here. If you continue down the path, it becomes rather pathless and delicate. I would rather go back on the way up.
