Soča Trail

Soča is the most beautiful river for me. It keeps reshaping the river bed, creating ravines, troughs and pools. Natural, with crystal clear and emerald green water. Numerous suspension bridges span the ice-cold mountain river. The Soška Pot (hiking trail) is located in the Triglav National Park and is 25 km long. I parked my car in Trenta in the parking lot and took the bus from there to my starting point. There are several bus stops on the trail. Please look at the bus map beforehand or find out more at the information center. The buses don't run that often.

Many visitors wonder where the Soča Gorge is the most beautiful. Many people end up in one or two places in their search - and thus miss many other and really great areas of the river. It is very worthwhile to fully commit to the section recommended here.

Those who follow this route really see many highlights and will not be disappointed. The path is quite easy to walk and is well signposted.

I love Slovenia, everything is still so pure, great landscapes, a bike tour from Villach to Trieste would be awesome!

The Soča is a crystal clear, ice-cold river. In some places you can cool off a little by jumping into the water.

Part of the Alps-Adriatic Trail runs here. Always nice and close to the river. Sturdy shoes are mandatory in order to climb directly to the troughs.
