In 1952, the Eifelvereins-Ortsgruppe Reifferscheid, headed by main teacher Franz Metz, set itself the task of building a place of prayer for peace after the end of the World War. At the Reifferscheider fun fair in 1953, the chapel was blessed by pastor Wilhelm Kliewer and handed over to his destiny.
In the period thereafter, e.g. B. in 2007, extensive renovation work was necessary, especially on the windows, the woodwork and the roof. Although wages were not paid, material costs were incurred. The cost recovery served u. a. a charity evening organized on 07.07.2007. There was a crossroads at this location even before the First World War. The corridor there is called “Am Hillijehüsje” (Am Heiligenhäuschen); French conquerors probably wanted to commemorate the Heiligenhäusen, which was destroyed around 1790, with the stone cross. The chapel was consecrated as early as 1953. rheumatologe.blogspot.com/2020/04/wegekapelle-maria-friedenskonigin.html
