Who pulls the thread? Ambassadors and Patricians in Solothurn.
The renewed permanent exhibition of Schloss Waldegg is dedicated to a core theme in the history of Solothurn. In the historical rooms it is shown how the ruling families of Solothurn fought, benefited and served for the influence of Besenval and the Ambassadors. With its richly decorated salons, paintings and furniture from the 17th to 19th centuries, the museum also illustrates the French-oriented way of life of the Solothurn patriciate. The inhabitants of the castle were among the most influential people of the then city-state Solothurn. On display are originals that are closely related to those of Besenval and the founding family of Sury. The work of the Ambassadors illustrate, in addition to original objects and important loans, two mechanical theaters and a radio play.Other parts of the museum outside the main building are the chapel of St. Michael, the historic bathtub in the gardener's house and the reconstructed baroque garden with the galleries and the chapel of St. Mauritius. The museum is open from April 2nd to October 30th:

The castle estate is a little eye-catcher. The view towards the Alps ... a great one.
