The museum is very worth seeing! The so-called "historical trip" is also interesting. It starts at Peenemünde Airport. Areas that are in the restricted area are shown: the test stand VII, from where the first rocket in the world flew into space, launch sites of the VI and much more.

The small village of Peenemünde in the north of Usedom is today probably the best-known place on the island internationally. Between 1936 and 1945, the Peenemünde Army Research Institute, one of the most modern technology centers of the time, was built here. Here, in 1942, under the scientific leadership of Wernher von Braun, one of the most spectacular and at the same time most dangerous technical breakthroughs of the 20th century was achieved - the world's first launch of a rocket into space.
The rocket was designed as a terrorist weapon for the warring Nazi state and the research in Peenemünde served the sole aim of military superiority. Thousands of people lost their lives in the use of forced laborers, concentration camp prisoners and prisoners of war during the construction of the test centers and the production of the rocket now known as “Retribution Weapon 2” in an underground factory in the Harz Mountains, as well as in the shelling of Belgian, English and French cities.

The so-called “Historical Trip” is also interesting. It begins at Peenemünde Airport. Areas that are in the restricted area are shown, e.g. B. Test Stand VII, from where the world's first rocket flew into space. Also starting points for the V1 and much more.

Impressive construction. Unfortunately the museum was already closed when I visited.

Mandatory program: This place is a historical and technical memorial and milestone. Depressing and impressive. The museum is great. I wouldn't necessarily go there with kids. Plan at least 2 hours if you are interested.

Exciting thing! When buying a ticket (10 per adult) pay 1 additional for the elevator to the viewing platform. It's worth it, great view from the top!

The power station is getting on in years, it's hard to imagine that it was once one of the most modern.

If you want to find out more about the history of Peenemünde and the experiments at that time, you have come to the right place. Probably the last existing building that you can visit. Perhaps not particularly suitable for children as there is a lot to read and watch. They might quickly lose interest.

Definitely worth seeing. Fascinating, interesting but also depressing at the same time. There is a lot to discover for 12€ per person. If you want to see it in detail, you should plan on 4 hours

The museum's exhibition is very interesting and impressive, but also a depressing depiction of how research and propaganda were used for war purposes. Especially today, many people should visit the exhibition to prevent the same mistakes from being made again.
