The wreck of the barge "Uwe" has been here on the Falkensteiner Ufer since 1975. At that time, two freighters collided in thick fog. One of the damaged persons had just overtaken the "Uwe", after the collision the freighter turned and crashed directly into the "Uwe". A sailor drowned in the accident. At the time there was a salvage company directly on the shore that dragged the two halves of the "Uwe" to the beach. The stern stayed in the water because it was very heavy. The city later bought the site and left the wreck in the silt as a kind of breakwater.

In 1926 the engine of the four-masted schooner "Polstjernan" exploded in the Kiel Canal. The still burning ship was towed into the Elbe estuary. It was later towed up the Elbe. The cargo ship is now lying as a breakwater on the Falkensteiner Ufer. At low tide you can still see the remains. Right next to it is the wreck "Uwe".

On December 19, 1975, the coaster "Wiedau" collided with the "Mieczyslaw Kalinowski" and then with the barge "Uwe" in front of the then Wittenbergen pier. The "Wiedau" and the "Uwe" sank.
The "Wiedau" was raised on March 14, 1976 and scrapped in Hamburg.
The broken "Uwe" was partially lifted. The stern was too heavy and was brought off the Falkensteiner Ufer.
