The soldiers' well lies in the middle of the forest in a small, shady clearing with a handful of benches.
Diffuse light that falls through the trees, the old, moss-covered fountain and the small, fern-covered clearing spread a beautiful enchanted atmosphere.
The fountain was built around 1700, when the conflicting border between Baden and Württemberg ran here and served the nearby Alexanderschanze for water supply. Against this background, naming is quite obvious.
Nearby you will also find the soldiers well hut with barbecue.

The soldiers' fountain was probably built in the first third of the 18th century in connection with the French invasions to supply the soldiers in the redoubts (e.g. the nearby "Alexanderschanze") in the upper Eyach valley. The fountain is a bit away from the forest path.
