The new Pelzmühlen restaurant was built in 2001. With its shape based on a paddle steamer, it represents a very interesting architecture and offers a very beautiful view of the Pelzmühlen pond from many places inside and outside.
A previous building had been located on the same site since at least the middle of the 19th century, which, in addition to its importance as an excursion destination for the people of Chemnitz, was well known for its concert hall and ballroom.
