On the "Ruinenberg" (vineyard), on the site of a medieval tower hill, an observation tower in the form of an artificial ruin was built in 1820 by order of the district administrator von Reichenbach. This is a fieldstone structure with a former small chapel. A narrow footpath or staircase leads north from Weinbergstrasse and continues to the eastern tip of the Ruinenberg. The vantage point offers a view of the city.
