The Niederwartha pumped storage plant is one of the first pumped storage power plants to be realized on a large scale. It is located in the Dresden districts Cossebaude and Niederwartha. The PSW Niederwartha was built from 1927 to 1930 and has a nominal output of 120 megawatts, which can be generated by six sets of machines. Four of them have been shut down.

Highly Recommended. For me one of the most beautiful lakes in Saxony. The water felt an excellent quality, the stairs made it easy to get in and there was also a large paddling pool with sun protection and two more pools including a slide. So also ideal for children and teenagers
