Sint-Dimpnakapel located between Zammel and Oosterlo, on the border of a recent residential area and the Zammelsbroek near the confluence of the Molenlaak and the Grote Nete. Legend has it that the Holy Dimpna and St. Gerebernus stayed here in a hermitage until they were murdered in Geel, chapel built at a well with supposed miraculous and healing water to which a pilgrimage arose and in which a chapel was built and in 1627 a lime was planted .

According to legend, Dimpna and Gerebernus lived in a hut in Zammel for several months. A chapel was built near this hut in the mid-17th century. This was soon too small, in view of the large influx of pilgrims. In 1692, therefore, the construction of a larger chapel was started, which was thoroughly rebuilt and restored in 1780.

In the chapel there is an altar with a statue of Saint Dimpna dating from 1711. The old well next to the chapel was already visited by pilgrims in the Middle Ages because of the medicinal water it is said to contain. The lime tree in front of the chapel door is said to have been planted around 1670.

You can't visit the Dimpna chapel, too bad.
