In the more than 400-year-old Klingenmühle in Welzheim, the artists' café is now open on the weekends. There are coffee specialties and homemade cakes. A small waterfall from the Wieslauf river babbles next to the mill. Opening hours: klingenmuehle.com

Gilg Untermüller von Steinbach operated the blade mill as the "Klingenbachsägmühle" as early as 1614. It existed under its current name in 1668 - this is evident from a marriage certificate of the blade miller Johannes Bareiß. In 1835 it had the dual function of grinding and sawmill with three water wheels, one for the sawmill and two more for the grinding mill. The hidden, steep location made the transport of the grist very difficult and contributed to the fact that the mill was shut down in 1937. A few years ago, the building, which dates back to 1789, was thoroughly modernized so that nothing of the old mill equipment is left inside.

        - Wieslauf gorge between Rudersberg and Welzheim (Rems-Murr district)

        - It is recommended to be sure-footed, sometimes slipping when it rains

        - Appropriate equipment (sturdy shoes, possibly hiking poles) is a requirement

        - Worth seeing gorge

        - a great hike in combination with the Edenbachschlucht

        - see Contribution "Railway Adventure Path" (from Rudersberg to Welzheim or vice versa)
